Trinity Episcopal Church unveiled its historic marker on Sunday, March 21, 2021. Sponsors include Historic Melrose, Inc., Trinity Episcopal Church, and the Florida Dept. of State.
Al Burt was past president of HMI and a celebrated author. He loved Melrose and especially events like the marker dedication held at Trinity Episcopal Church. He said, “We find Melrose a place where each day has a value all its own, not like the others, and the splendid feeling has not diminished.”
Historic Melrose is sincerely grateful to Fr. Tony Powell and the Trinity congregation for hosting the unveiling. HMI is also thankful to Jean Giesel, Kathi Warren, and Jean Marshall for their efforts with the Trinity Episcopal historic marker. We also need to mention the late, great Rosemary Daurer for inspiring the marker.
This is the seventh historic marker in our area, joining markers for Melrose High School, the town of Melrose, Melrose cemetery, Melrose Woman’s Club, Melrose United Methodist Church, and St John the Fisherman cemetery in Earleton.
