Camellias are native to Asia and the first Camellia plants arrived to New England greenhouses in 1797.
Melrose Library Association is hosting its 2023 Camellia Sale and Breakfast at Trinity Episcopal Church parish hall, 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The beautiful Camellias for sale are from Lock Laurel Nursery owned by Mark Crawford. Camellias cost $30.00 each. Enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet for $7.00 per plate. You will be able to choose from breakfast casseroles, homemade pastries and biscuits and gravy, along with coffee, tea and juice. There will also be a MLA gift table and used books. Proceeds from the Camellia sale and breakfast will be used to further improve the Melrose Library and programs throughout the year.
These are picture postcards from Cypress Gardens which operated from 1936 to 2009. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. The gardens have been preserved inside what is now Legoland, Florida.
